Modern Fashion: May/June 2010
This shoot took place at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. With it’s opening in Charlotte, NC on January 2nd, 2010, Charlotte Living was the first publication allowed to shoot inside this wonderful museum designed by architect Mario Botta.
The museum is named after the family of Andreas Bechtler, a Charlotte, North Carolina resident and native of Switzerland who assembled and inherited a collection of more than 1,400 artworks created by major figures of 20th-century modernism.
My task was clear: create fashion to reflect the art. Done, my model could not have been more perfect with her stunning ivory skin, yet sleek platinum hair so reminiscent of the modern world. My favorite shot was of Jenny lying on the floor in the stairwell, a wonderful combination of dark versus light. This was a perfect venue to showcase modern art and fashion.
