Bringing You One New Closet At A Time: Part Two
So the closet renovation continues and so does my job. As a stylist, my job is to ensure that all the spaces we build function for the client. This particular client is Colleen Odegaard, TV personality and host of WCNC’s Charlotte Today. Not only do I style her for the show, I am a monthly Fashion contributor on the show, but more importantly she is a friend. I was so excited about the opportunity to help her transform her closet into a organized and functional space that she and her husband can enjoy for years to come. After we purged her existing wardrobe, we discussed what would work best for her and her husband in the space. We knew we needed designated areas for her dresses and her shoes. We decided how much folding space she needed for her jeans and sweaters and her jewelry. My main goal was to make sure that all her clothes had a defined area. We also decided that to give the closet a new look we wanted to paint it a color complimenting the rest of the decor in her master bedroom and bath. I also knew that I wanted to give her a great area rug, new lighting and a seating area that doubled jas more storage. Here are some pictures of the progress.
Even if one decides not to do a complete closet renovation, a little paint and new light fixtures can change a dull closet into an oasis. Our next step was to meet at California Closets Charlotte to pick the finishes for her closet. You can choose multiple finishes, hardware, cabinet styles and accessories. The possibilities are endless, but with the help of Morgan Haynie we were able to choose the best colors and finishes to compliment her decor. And now finally, the install begins. The California Closet team comes in and starts to put your dream closet together. Tune in tomorrow at 11 am to see the final product on WCNC’s Charlotte Today. Can’t wait for you guys to see the final product.
