Heading towards an ultra modern design, cutting edge and certainly futuristic, metallics are a major highlight in the Spring/ Summer 2013 runway collections.  High shine textures or mirrored effects on skirts, heels or accessories are exhilarating this spring and can be combined with this season’s delicate pastels.  Metallics were also spotted on the runway in a more classic approach like the all over metallic sequined dress from Diane Von Furstenberg or Jill Stuart’s disco ball maxi dress this spring. Whatever you think about this trend, designers have amped up their line with some form of it. You will find these metallics in a variety of colors like silver,gold, copper or pewter and treated as oil-slicked, mirrored, high gloss or iridescent.
