After last season’s introduction of bright colors, prints and opulent embellishments nothing was stronger on the Spring 2013 runway as the basic black and white. Shown best by Marc Jacobs, his nod to the 60’s was featured using checkerboard patterns and bold vertical stripes. Black and White, one of spring’s boldest trends, can be found in many collections this year.  Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Pamella Roland and Alice & Olivia are good examples, but no one did it more justice than Marc Jacobs. In the final parade of his Spring/Summer 2013 runway show, lines blurred into each other as the models paraded down the runway forming a pyramid. His silhouettes were mod, accessories linear and the color primarily black and white.
